ICAHN Workshop "2017 Opioid Crisis Next Door: Prevention, Care
and Treatment Programs for Substance Use Disorders"

Illinois Critical Access Hospital Network's "Opioid Crisis Next Door: Prevention, Care and Treatment Programs for Substance Use Disorders" conference will be held Wednesday, March 29, from 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m., at the Crowne Plaza, 3000 S. Dirksen Parkway, Springfield, IL. This workshop is the third in a series and will provide education on the initial care and treatment of persons with substance use disorders, options for recovery and management of patients with chronic pain, and to encourage dialog among providers on best practices and challenges of treating individuals in local communities. It is intended for physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurses, mental health and behavioral therapists, pharmacists, dentists, policy makers, public health, law enforcement, and community coalitions. The registration fee is $35 per attendee or $100 for three attendees. Deadline to register is Friday, March 24. Deadline to Register First-Time Medicaid Participants  is March 13, 2017

First-time participants in the Illinois Medicaid Electronic Health Records (EHR) Incentive Program must register with Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) by March 13, 2017, in order to begin participation in the EHR Incentive program. First-time participants who miss the March 13 deadline, will not be able to begin participation, as 2016 was the last year to begin participation. If you need assistance with registering your new participants, please contact us at info@ILHITREC.org. 
 
Illinois Extends Medicaid Attestation Deadline to April 30, 2017   
 
The deadline for Providers to attest in the Illinois Medicaid Electronic Health Records (EHR) Incentive Program for the 2016 program year has been extended to April 30, 2017. The extension applies only to eligible providers who have registered for the program at the CMS website by the March 13, 2017 registration deadline for the Medicare/Medicaid EHR Incentive programs, but have not yet attested to the Illinois Medicaid EHR Incentive Program for the 2016 program year. Medicare Attestation Deadline extended to March 13, 2017

The attestation deadline for providers participating in the Medicare EHR Incentive Program is Monday, March 13, 2017, at 11:59 p.m. ET., in order to avoid a 2018 payment adjustment. The EHR reporting period was any continuous 90 days between Jan. 1 and Dec. 31, 2016.

eCQM Submission Deadline Extended to March 13, 2017
CMS has extended the dedline for eligible hospitals and critical access hospitals participating in the Hospital Inpatient Quality Reporting (IQR) and/or the Medicare Electronic Health Record (EHR) Incentive Programs. The extension is for the submission of electronic Clinical Quality Measure (eCQM) data for the Calendar Year (CY) 2016 reporting period, pertaining to the Fiscal Year (FY) 2018 payment determination. The deadline has been changed from Feb. 28, 2017, to Monday, March 13, 2017, at 11:59 p.m. PT. This extension is being granted to provide hospitals additional time to submit eCQM data.
