With only a few months until the new health insurance Marketplace opens, it is more important than ever that we all work together to educate the people of Illinois on new opportunities available to access affordable health insurance.

The Illinois Health Reform Outreach Coalition is dedicated to connecting communities to coverage by bringing together health care providers, social service providers, faith leaders, business leaders, and other community stakeholders from across the state to:

  1. Promote and share best practices for outreach and enrollment;
  2. Improve the effectiveness of enrollment systems through the development of a real-time feedback loop; and
  3. Harness the power of personal stories to build a positive dialogue about the ACA.

All coalition members will have access to special tools and resources to support outreach and education activities, including:

  • Access to a special members only portal on Illinoishealthmatters.org;
  • First notice of important ACA related policy updates from the Illinois Maternal and Child Health Coalition;
  • Early registration for select ACA events and trainings, including enrollment trainings hosted between September and November; and
  • The opportunity to be featured on the Illinois Health Matters blog and social media pages.

Coalition members should include any individual or organization with an interest in promoting the Affordable Care Act or taking an active role in outreach, education, and/or enrollment initiatives. This includes health care providers, social service providers, faith leaders, and business leaders, including In-Person Counselors, Navigators, and Certified Application Counselors.

This initiative is funded by Community Catalyst and co-hosted by the Illinois Maternal and Child Health Coalition, Health & Disability Advocates, the Campaign for Better Health Care, and the Southern Illinois Healthcare Foundation.

If you have questions or you are unable to attend, but would like to receive future updates, please contact Kathy Waligora at the Illinois Maternal and Child Health Coalition by emailing kwaligora@ilmaternal.org or calling 312-491-8161 x29.
