ICAAP is offering FREE training on immunizations for medical assistants on June 14th

The Illinois Chapter, American Academy of Pediatrics (ICAAP) will offer its FREE training on immunizations for medical assistants on Friday, June 14, 2013 at Advocate Christ Medical Center’s Conference Center in Oak Lawn. Please see below and the attached flyer for additional information.

 Medical assistants, nurses, and other health care personnel who work with infants, children, and adolescents should attend this important seminar on pediatric immunizations and join colleagues from throughout the state for a day of training activities designed especially for them.

 The program is FREE and includes expert faculty, up-to-date information on immunizations, and lunch!

Upon completion of this program, participants will be able to:
· Review epidemiology and prevention of vaccine preventable diseases
· Describe recent changes to the 2013 recommended and catch-up immunization schedules
· Identify proper storage and handling of vaccines to reduce vaccine errors
· Discuss the importance of using I-CARE, the state of Illinois’ immunization registry

This program has been granted prior approval by the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)for 4.5 clinical or general category AAMA continuing education units.  Granting approval in no way constitutes endorsement by the AAMA of the program content or the program’s sponsor.
